China
Matt Hux has been living and teaching in China for three years. He writes: I enjoy China a lot and now call it my home. Living overseas has been an opportunity for growth. I have realized that giving complete control to God is often scary. Learning to trust Him even though I can't see the future has been a true test of faith.
Please pray for me. My students need to see a reflection of God's goodness. Did you know that 70% of Chinese students first hear the gospel through a foreign teacher? My role should not be taken lightly. Please pray that these situations would occur and that I would not miss them.
Every class. Every basketball game. Every bike ride. Every ping pong match. These are all chances for the love of God to be present. Also, pray for the new teachers at the school. This is a new transition, and they need encouragement.
Father's House, thank you for being so supportive of what God is doing in my life. I look forward to seeing you all when I return to the states.
Please check out what is going on by reading Matt's Blog.
Greece
EME Ministries (Europe, Eastern Europe and the Middle East) purposes to:
Aid local churches and ministries in the most needy areas of the Mediterranean Region.
Empower the agencies and personnel with necessary provisions-- personnel, finance, training and other essentials-- to better advance their ministry efforts, including through Business as Mission (BAM) and Business for Mission (BFM) platforms.
Support especially the development of educational programs within the framework of the local church: kindergartens, primary schools, K-12 schools and adult, Biblical education.
Varustaa
Varustaa, a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was founded by Allen and Michelle Tedder for one purpose - To Equip and Provide. It is an exciting new concept, designed to bring non-profit organizations, volunteers and corporate partners together in both a global and local effort to meet the needs of our communities and our planet.
The word Varustaa is a Finnish word meaning “to equip, supply, prepare or provide”. There is also significance in the word being of Finnish origin, in that it is our goal to help organizations, as well as ourselves, “finish” the task they have embarked upon.
